If there is one thing I have learned living in London is that you can’t always count on the weather.  This summer has been like the last nine I have experienced since relocating to London — unpredictable.

Spring’s arrival brings beautiful blooms and sunnier days and by the time it’s June we are itching for warmer, dare I say it, hotter days. When the hotter days of June arrive it is truly heavenly but then something happens in July and the weather starts to take a turn for the worse.  Clouds and rain roll in and it almost feels like autumn — come on mother nature?  From July to August the weather is so unpredictable that one can experience three seasons in one day.

While the weather may be unpredictable the wine is not. Yes, the wine and in particular the local wine vintner, Highbury Vinters. We like to pair wine with food and the team (Sean, Tom, Ben, Alexia) at Highbury Vinters always help us find the ideal wine.

This crisp white pairs perfectly with perfectly with prawns.

A summer Riesling is ideal with a starter of salmon and olives.

When the summer decides to turn a bit more autumnal this red will liven up a simple meal of butter beans in a tomato sauce to  warm you from the inside.

If you need to bring the BBQ indoors then look no further than this robust red.
