I’m an erstwhile blogger who is trying to be a but more consistent. I always start with good intentions, taking photos, making notes, writing half finished pieces that people might find interesting but inevitably something gets in the way. I don’t believe in making new year resolutions but I do like to set mini goals to make time for what’s important. The past 11 months have shown us what really is important and what makes one happy. For us it has been about family, food, yoga and making the time to do those things.

Making time to keep in touch with our family and friends and for us friends are family. Whether it’s through WhatsApp, FaceTime, text messages, Instagram, or email. We make sure to keep in touch with our family and friends that are scattered all over the globe. It can be something as simple are sending a virtual hug πŸ€— , a wave πŸ‘‹ or having a three hour call on WhatsApp but it is these gestures that let our loved ones know we are thinking about them. My all time favourite way to keep in touch is snail mail. It’s the cards sending good wishes for Christmas and the New Year, happy birthday cards, and the notes that are sent for no other reason than to let someone know you care and are thinking about them.

Food nourishes our body, warms our bellies, and can take us on a journey without leaving home. Sometimes we cook a simple pasta dish , prawns, and zucchini and other times (usually at the weekend) we’ll cook an extravagant fisherman’s stew. But whatever we cook we savour every single bite. Every weekend we think about what we would like to eat during week (lunch and dinner) while making sure we balance our busy day jobs and make time to leav the flat for a breath of fresh air.

Then there is the yoga that soothes our mind and body and has kept us sane and helped our bodies stay strong but more than anything yoga has given us a community. This Guardian article pretty much sums up online yoga during lockdown. I practice more regularly than my other half but it’s safe to say that when both practice we feel better for doing so. I personally do not know what I would have done without my yoga community Yogarise, Kate Lovell, Kirstie Bird, Peace Alima, and all the other yoga teachers that I have taken a class with. I am eternally grateful for you.
