I came across this window display a few months in Chelsea and I liked it so much that I put it up on my mood board. I liked the display but what I really liked is what it said.
‘Art is the only way to run away without leaving home’ – Twyla Tharp. Wise words from a very talented and creative woman.
As I read this it made me think of that time as child when I told mother I was going to run away from home but I never made it past the neighbors house or the end of the block. I was probably mad because I did not like what we were having for dinner or something silly like that.
This also made me think of the times in my life as an adult when I have wanted to run away and to leave the mundane and everyday behind for some place new and exciting.
These words made me realise that it is possible to ‘run away’ whenever I want without ever leaving home. All made possible through art.
Going to a gallery or museum, of which there are many in London, sketching a design or crafting a new piece of jewellery these are ways that allow me to run away and they also bring my the satisfaction of knowing that I saw something wonderful or made something special and one-of-a-kind.
So what is the Art that you run away to? Do you have any galleries or museums that you run away to?

I love this quote- I love doing crafts and artistic things at home when I need to recharge. Great window and post!!
Perfect quote! it’s good to runaway from life sometimes… art is a perfect place to run to
